Kosovo Police for the end year holidays had on time prepared the operational plan to provide security throughout the territory of Kosovo.The purpose of this plan and commitment of Kosovo Police was to keep the public peace and order throughout the country, preventing and combating negative phenomena and various criminal acts.Part of the plan has also been the increase of the police presence in the road traffic as well as the police presence and vigilance in the area, in the streets of various cities where celebratory events occurred.
During the night of New Year (2013/2014), the situation has mainly been quiet throughout the territory of Kosovo, with the exception of a few incidents reported to Kosovo Police.
Reported incidents are mainly bodily injuries as a result of improper use of pyrotechnic, and firearms. In general, in Kosovo Police during the New Year’s night, there have been reported (13) injuries by inappropriate use of pyrotechnic and by blind bullets (by air) of the fire weapons. There have also been reported six (6) cases of property damage, four (4) fire incidents as well as two (2) cases of property damage as a result of improper use of pyrotechnic and firearms.Kosovo police during the last 24 hours has arrested four persons for illegal possession of firearms.These are cases that are reported to Kosovo police, but there may be other cases of injury, that may have looked for medical treatment at Family Health Centers.
