JOINT PRESS RELEASE FOR MEDIA FROM THE BASIC PROSECUTION IN PRISHTINA AND KOSOVO POLICE

Prishtinë, 5th of October 2021 – The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, respectively the Department of Serious Crimes informs the opinion that in coordination with the Kosovo Police respectively unit FAST Kosova operating within the Directorate for International Cooperation in the Kosovo Police as well as in coordination with relevant units from the regional directorate of police and the fast reaction forces have carried out an efficient operation and arrested one (1) person, a foreign citizen, who was on an international wanted list with the international arrest warrant.

The above-mentioned person is suspected of having been involved in criminal offenses “Fraud”.

During the police operation in the location where the wanted person was arrested, the above-mentioned with an international arrest warrant, three (3) other persons were arrested as well, on suspicion of possessing suspected narcotic substances.

Regarding this case, the anti-drug police units in Prishtina also responded, which according to the authorizations of the prosecutor on duty from the Serious Crimes Department of the Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, have undertaken other necessary investigative and operational actions related to the case.

By decision of the state prosecutor, one (1) person was detained, for a period of 48 hours, due to the criminal offense “Fraud”, while three (3) other persons are being interviewed by the police to further undertake all procedural measures.
