Prishtina, 15th of April 2021

Kosovo Police, respectively the Directorate of Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption – Unit of Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption in the Ferizaj Region on 15.04.2021, after a several months of investigation and based on the evidences collected, initiated the implementation of the Operational Plan “Protection of Forests 2021”.

In the first phase, the search warrant was implemented in eight (8) various locations, at the officials of the Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in Ferizaj.
On the grounded suspicion that the suspects involved have misused the office or their authority, forestry equipment and forest keepers, by not fulfilling their official duties stipulated by law, just to benefit materially for themselves or others, they have received bribery directly or indirectly from several citizens known to be recidivists in damaging the forest. By doing so they are suspected of committing the criminal offense “Abuse of the office or official authority”, “Taking Bribery”, as well as criminal offense “Unauthorized ownership, control or possession of firearms”.

During the implementation of this search warrant at the locations of the suspects, the following evidence have been found and seized:

1. Hunting firearm – long (6) pcs;
2. Fire weapon (revolver) –two (2) pcs;
3. Revolver magazine –six (6) pcs;
4. Magazine AK-47 – two (2 pcs;
5. Rounds cal. 9mm – twenty (20) pcs;
6. Round 7.65 – thirty (30) pcs;
7. Rounds cal.12 mm – four (4) pcs;
8. Mobile phones – thirteen (13) pcs;
9. Stamping hammer – one (1) pcs and
10. Other materials such as: pocket notebook, fine paper, evidence block, reports, forms etj.

After interviewing the suspects in the presence of attorney, according to the competent prosecution against the suspects is imposed the measure of 48 hour detention for further legal procedures.

Kosovo Police remains committed in implementing its legal duties and authorizations in preventing and combating all types of crimes and corruption and in this light, more rigorous legal actions will be taken against all persons involved, regardless the function and role they have.
