Kosovo
Police, respectively the Section for Investigation of Economic Crimes (SIEC)
supported by the Supporting Unit of DIOC as well as the North Police Station in
Prishtina, with the aim to implement the Basic Court’s order – the Department
for Serious Crimes in Prishtina, on 28.05.2019 has conducted a police operation
coded ‘Era’.

During this
operation, a suspect was caught in flagrance receiving an amount of money
(usury installment) of 1,200.00 Euro, where he was arrested by Kosovo Police
under the grounded suspicion of having committed the criminal offence ‘usury’
from the article 331 of KPRK. The above mentioned person with the aim to
benefit illegally the interest rate (usury) has contracted various amounts of
money by benefiting the amount of 70,000.00 Euro.

Based on the verbal
order of the pre-trial Judge from the Basic Court in Prishtina, there has been
controlled the suspect’s house. During the control there was found a hunting
rifle with expired license which then was seized by the Investigation Unit of
the North Police Station in Prishtina

During
this police operation there was also seized the amount of 1,500.00 Euro, one
Iphone as well as a metallic rod.

Regarding
the case, the Serious Crimes Department informed the prosecutor on duty of the
Basic Prosecution in Prishtina and by the ruling, the suspect was taken to
custody for 48 hours.
