A case with International Cooperation under grounded suspicion for the transnational organized crime resulted in arresting of four suspects.

Prishtinë, 14 March 2018

Today on 14 March 2018 in the Prizren-Dragash region, Kosovo Police, respectively the Directorate for Investigation of Trafficking with Narcotics assisted by the Specialized Units after the period of two years investigation has conducted a police operation coded “PORTA” which resulted in arresting of four (4) suspects under the grounded suspicion for involvement in the Transnational organized Crime.

This police operation was preceded with an ongoing cooperation with the police authorities of Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Italy, Switzerland and Austria, where in all the joint police operations so far, there were arrested around one hundred (100) suspects as well as there was seized a considerable amount of narcotics and other material evidences.

             While today, besides the arrest of four suspects, as material evidences there was seized around one (1) kg of narcotics suspected to be marijuana, one hunting rifle, one emptied magazine AK 47 and various items serving for packaging narcotics.

In general, during the two years period in the Republic of Kosovo and other states mentioned above, the joint operations have resulted in:

Arresting of around 100 suspects

Seizure of around 28 kg of heroin 

Seizure of around 170 kg of marijuana

Around 60 kg of other types of narcotics

Around 200 000 euro,

11 vehicles and 

Other evidences which serve for further criminal procedure

The investigations and operations were conducted in cooperation with Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo by whose order the suspects are taken to the detention centre.
